The West Hempfield Senior Legion Baseball Teams Season came to an end with a 18-3 loss to Latrobe in extra innings.  With the scored tied 2-2, Latrobe scored 16 runs in the top of the 8th inning.  Jake Anderson pitched a great game striking out 11 batters and walking only 2.  Colin Critchfield and Dylan Visnic both had 2 hits, scored a run, and drove in a run.  Anderson drove in the other run with a base hit to tie the score in the bottom of the 6th inning.

After a 35 minute rain delay, West Hempfield dropped a 6-5 decision to 1st place Bushy Run at Penn Trafford High School.  The game was called after 5 innings due to darkness.  Steven Forrai was the starting pitcher and gave up 4 earned runs, struck out 4, and walked 4.  Nick Altier pitched 1 inning of relief and gave up 1 unearned run but took the loss.  Hayden Fox had 2 hits and drove in a run and Alex Hall hit a double and a single, scored 2 runs, and knocked in a run.  

The team qualified for the playoffs as the #7 seed and will play a best of 3 series against the #2 seed, Latrobe.  1st game of the playoffs begin at 2 pm on Tuesday, July 4th at Legion Keener Park in Latrobe.  Game 2 will be at Lint Field on Wednesday, July 5th, a 5:30 start time, and Game 3, if necessary will be played at Legion Keener Park in Latrobe on Thursday, July 6th, 5:30 first pitch.

The West Hempfield Legion Baseball Team won their 3rd game in a row and 4th in the past 5 games with 4-0 victory over Kiski Valley at Laube Field in Freeport.  Troy Fabean won his 2nd straight game on the mound.  Fabean pitched a complete game shutout, he struck out 7 and walked none.  Colin Critchfield and Sean Immel both doubled in the contest and Dylan Visnic had a 2-out base hit that drove in 2 runs.  West Hempfield will travel to Mt Pleasant High School on Monday, June 26th to play Mt Pleasant, 6 pm first pitch.
